KNIGHT VISION
Explorations by the Students of Eastridge High School.
May 7 – June 25, 2010
Opening Reception May 7 from 7-9pm
I know I’ve been quiet for a bit, but trust me, I’ve been busy. I’m very excited to tell you about our next show, KNIGHT VISION.
On Friday, May 7th, 1975 is proud to present KNIGHT VISION – Explorations by the Students of Eastridge High School. Curated in partnership with art eductator Jessica Spaker, the show features over 50 photographic works by students enrolled in art/photography classes at Eastridge high school or who are members of their Photography Club.
Students were invited to submit up to ten pieces. Works were then selected based on a number of criteria: technical merit, composition, artistic potential, and in a few cases, pure emotional response. With over 120 submissions, we were able to cull the body of work down to photographs that demonstrate the raw potential of this group of young artists.
For many of these students, this exhibit will mark their first public showing. I personally was thrilled to see so many submissions but such a relatively small group of people, and so many photographers that showed potential to be great.
We are also setting all prices at a low fixed price to encourage everyone to help support these artists as they embark on their creative path.
The show will run May 7 – June 25th, 2010.
