Portrait of the collector as a youngish man.

So, you've found this page.
You may have even heard a little bit about my "collection."
It's true, I've amassedquite a bit of stuff over the last few years.

In 2005, I had to photograph it all for insurance purposes, and figured I'd post up the photos for close friends to get a glimpse. I'm sure some of you will find stuff that you forgot about. It's kindof fun.

Most of the photos admittedly aren't great. It took me seven hours to shoot the initial pieces over two days, and of course, I realized I forgot a ton of stuff that was not with the other pieces after I was done. There are some glaring omissions (sorry Dongo, Vin, Ming, Jenna, and Dan!) I'm sorry about the rotated pix, too. I switched them in Photoshop, and then the turned on me. ugh.

One of these days, I'm going to reshoot everything and try and take nicer photos of it all. Until then, looks likeyou just gotta deal.

NOTE 8/2010:
The documented collection here only represents pieces up through Fall of 2007. As of this writing, there are three solid years of this co
llection that is not represented here. Just keep that in mind.

CATEGORIES:

Fine Arts: Art by people you may recognize as well as friends I've been able to pay for their talents and inspiration. There is some awesome stuff in here.

Fine Arts given to me by friends: I get lucky and sometimes people give me stuff. Much of this dates back to the early-mid 90s.

Art Collectibles and Designer/Art toys: I'm a sucker, what can I say. Includes western vinyl, ohter stuff, posters, and whatnot.(note: This portion of the collection is now only a fraction of what I've collected. Most of it focuses on Halloween-themed and Japanese vinyl now)

Skateboards: There is history here. there are a bunch designed by me, but way more by other people. there are a bunch of "art" boards in there, too. Nope, none of these will be ridden.

Shoes: Again, damn, I'm dumb. Mainly DC artist projects, but some Nike and other companies too. Check out the ECR shoe, they are 1 of 7 in the world (my logo!)

Typography Samples: I love type and typography. Look for the framed piece, it is from 1929 and signed by Frederic Goudy and his wife Bertha and is 1 of about 130 originals. I have a lot more old type stuff, but it is already boxed up for the move. Most of this stuff was saved as RIT renovated at the turn of the millenium.

Random Minutiae: And all the rest. I like a lot of promo material stuff, a few signed tour posters and stuff, and random stuff from art shows.

NOTE: 3/18/2012: The biggest thing missing is my T-Shirt collection, most of which resides in huge bins in my closet. Just wait for that one. It's going to be a doozy. I've last counted about 1000 shirts . . .

Also, I need to properly break out the posters and prints into their own collection, as well as all of the designer/art toys. I got a little carried away over the years.

A FEW GALLERY UPDATES

Old gallery: This is an older version of the online gallery that one of my employees put together for a project years ago. It has some higher quality pics of some of the cooler pieces. Web/code/tech wise, the sub-site is a disaster, though.

Art Purchases Fall 2007: Just a handful of updates from Fall 2007

Spring 2012 Updates: Nowhere near complete, but a glimpse at what's entered into the collection since last I updated.
