Of all the sites I do/manage, sadly my own is the worst off. I want to fix that a bit this year.
Lots of things have been going on, I’m just going to go in list form to save time:
+ My lil’ brother got engaged right before Christmas. Congrats Craig and Jess!
+ 1975 started into it’s second year. My original goal was to hopefully make it one year . . . I’m already booked through year two, looking at year three shows. Awesome.
+ After almost 14 years as Creative Director, I officially stepped down from my role at KRUDCO. just this past weekend. It was a hard decision, but with everything that’s been going on the last year, it was just beyond time to do it. I’ll still be supporting/rocking Krudco., it was just time to let go.
+ I’m currently stepping back into the role of artist with the newly formed art collective SWEET MEAT CO. I’m excited to switch back into that role after a year of promoting others. Not like I’m going to stop that side . . . I just missed making stuff.
+ I need to get back on board more this year. As always, though, once it’s nicer out, I’ll also be tooling around on my bike with the BLK13 crew.
I think that’s enough for now. Stay tuned for awesomeness.
What can I say? This was the Summer of the Downtrodden, as I was either super-swamped, sick, or injured. I got a LITTLE bit of traveling in, saw Vin get married, worked a lot, and I just celebrated the one year anniversary of 1975. So yeah, I was busy, and I didn’t mean to neglect you.
Here, to make it up to you, I want you to have these iPhone pics of AFI I took last Friday. It was a pretty hot show, my friends!
I’ve been so consumed I haven’t even written here in a while. My friend Mike Ming wrote a great 3-4 blog about the trip. lots of photos and commentary. Check it out here.
I also put up some photos from the trip on my flickr site. Enjoy!
Check out 1975ish.com for the latest. DEATH UNTO OUR ENEMIES opens up on June 5! Come check it out!
If you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to, go check out my other site, 1975. It’s keeping me a very busy bee! The PUCKER show opening is up and looks awesome, and the opening was amazing!
In other news, check out kidrobot next month, March 19th to be exact, for the release of my buddy Luke Irwin’s, aka FILTH, DIY station wagons! I like to blame Luke for getting me into the whole vinyl toy thing all those years ago. You start out buying something that your friend designed, next thing you know, you are frantically refreshing your browser trying to pick up the latest limited release. Thanks Luke. HA!
